We are looking for a Sr. level Director who is a highly strategic, results oriented business professional with a proven track record of success to lead our Eastern Sales Zone.

This Zone Sales Leader will be a strategic team player who will partner across functions and levels within the organization, as well as with our customers to deliver on the Hawthorne Gardening 360 promise.

Reporting to the SVP Hawthorne Global Sales, this person will support and drive a One Team mentality while developing our next-generation of sales professionals.

We are open to remote candidates as long as you are aware of the 50% travel increasing for those not located in East Coast.

What you'll do in this role:
  • Enterprise leadership across the entire East Zone (Maine to FL.). Proven expert on both commercial and retail operations within the zone
  • Responsible for delivering East Zone sales budget and managing the factors that impact it
  • Lead collaborative effort across supply chain, logistics, sales, category, marketing, customer service, and tech services to deliver results
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of sales development programs and initiatives, with cross-functional collaboration to support thegrowth and overall objectives of the zone
  • Develop strategic plans and support needed to take share in retail and execute HGC 360 proposition in commercial cultivators
  • Develop and maintain senior level relationships with key accounts and cultivators
  • Manage and maintain zone financial budget including merchandising, marketing initiatives, regional funds, trade program and expense management
  • Collaborate with internal & external teams to optimize listing recommendations, inventory parameters, and service levels
  • Drive the utilization of technical tools to develop monthly execution plans based on trends and competitive threats
  • Implement sales structure and initiatives including salesforce, increased call frequency, and business reporting
  • Ability to analyze data from multiple sources and create a clear-concise message.
  • Lead talent management initiatives including hiring, managing performance, coaching and developing others.
  • Define and maintain Battle Rhythm that assures productive team activities tied to Hawthorne 360
  • Responsible for meeting all administrative and compliance requirements on time for both yourself and zone personnel
  • Ensure a safe work environment for all associates.

What you'll need to be successful:
  • 8 - 10 years of sales leadership and key account management experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree is required, MBA preferred
  • Extensive supervisory / management experience with ability to implement change management
  • Experience building strong internal and external partnerships with key decision makers.
  • Strong executive presence and professional acumen
  • Outstanding communication and time management skills
  • Experience interfacing with External Customer Leadership
  • Hydroponics experience preferred
  • Travel Approx. 50% of the Time
  • Strong computer skills required including use of Salesforce, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google.
