Director – Special Projects

DaVita is dynamic, growing and entrepreneurial, and DaVita Guest Services is seeking to transform patient admissions for patients, hospitals, and physicians. We are seeking an ambitions and results-driven leader to develop our strategy and capabilities for a world-class customer experience. This new role will report to the Vice President, Patient Support and Insurance.

This position offers significant ownership of DaVita’s future growth capabilities. In addition to leading adoption of current tools and enhanced process, this teammate will relentlessly seek to understand the pain points, needs, and future opportunities for delivery a leading experience to our hospital and physician partners. Candidates will be able to use influence and create buy-in across diverse stakeholders for new best practices. You must be able to work well under pressure, have low ego with high confidence and interpersonal awareness, and deliver impact under tight deadlines.

Key responsibilities include leading the go-to-market strategy for new patient admissions technology products, expanding Voice of the Customer initiatives for hospitals and physicians, clearly understanding market trends for hospitals, physicians, and healthcare IT platforms, and developing a clear, compelling strategy enabling DaVita’s continued growth. This is a high impact and high visibility role that will enable DaVita to realize its goals.
Qualified candidates must have experience in strategy development, with a preference for leaders from healthcare-IT or healthcare-provider backgrounds. This leader must establish partnerships with other corporate teams, field leaders, hospital leaders, physicians and clinical operations teams to ensure robust planning and rapid execution. This position will communicate and interface with cross-functional teams at multiple levels – including regular sessions with GVP, SVP, and C-level leaders.

Key Performance Metrics:

  • Develop and earn enterprise agreement to a multiyear roadmap for outstanding customer support
  • Identify and implement strategies to unify hospital and physician customer experience across DaVita’s lines of business
  • Implement a robust process to capture customer feedback and develop performance metrics and management processes to consistently meet or outperform customer service and growth goals.
  • Drive high adoption of DaVita’s leading patient admissions tools 
  • Create effective relationships with cross-functional teams to support your work and DaVita’s growth goals, including Corporate Strategy, Physician Experience and Leadership (OCMO), Information Technology (IT), Revenue Operations (ROPs), Business Development, and field operations leaders.

  • Job Duties and Expectations:
  • Translate ambiguous, challenging business questions to feasible, high impact strategies 
  • Develop clear, senior executive-level communications to create consensus and drive action
  • Preference for experience with distributed healthcare provider or hospital environment, including technology workflow and systems (EMR, referral management) 
  • Partner with the operational leadership team to develop and execute strategic business plans, operational goals, and performance metrics that drive growth and productivity and ensure a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Form and lead teams to execute business objectives
  • Encourage collaboration and support of cross-functional business initiatives to ensure quick resolution of business issues.
  • Champion development of leadership competencies that drive individual and team goals.
  • Foster the DaVita Way of culture that encourages teammate contribution, respect, and support of all types of individuals. 
  • Qualifications:
  • Strategy experience, top consulting firm preferred
  • Proven experience identifying and driving for growth in your territory
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred (hands on practical experience)
  • Available for moderate travel (approximately 35%)

  • Pay range: $140,000 - $155,000/Year

Salary/ Wage Range

$100,100.00 to $147,000.00

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
