Our Projects and Technology (P&T) business exist to make the delivery of Shell’s strategy and the growth of our company possible. P&T works collaboratively and in an integrated way with its business partners, to deliver value for our customers, and for Shell.
What we need from you?
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
At least 5 years relevant working experience.
Preferably a bachelor’s degree in IT or related.
Excellent understanding of data engineering principles and tools at least two years of professional databricks / python experience required.
Knowledge of software development standards including clean coding and clean architecture principles
Strong knowledge of data structures and data transformation logic development
Strong knowledge of pattern matching and heuristic algorithms (including as a minimum regex-based solutions)
Experience of using object oriented and procedural languages for data engineering operations (Python required)
Strong knowledge of agile practices.
Strong knowledge of test-driven development.
Working knowledge of azure dev board (previously VSTS).
Good knowledge of azure CI / CD PowerShell and azure cli.
Knowledge of cloud stack (Azure) for cloud-based components of the process. Experience in some of the cloud-based capabilities:
Azure storage infrastructure including Blob stores
Distributed data processing platform: Databricks
Proficient with Databricks Dataframe and http APIs.
Good understanding of Databricks RDD API
Good understanding of Databricks query optimization techniques.
What would be a plus.
Good understanding of graph operations, e.g. tree traversal, and network analysis.
Knowledge of semantics and ontological modelling
Knowledge of object-oriented data models.
Knowledge of graph and ontology stores.
Experience with engineering data platforms specifically an Engineering Data Warehouse.
Maintenance, Engineering and Facilities domain knowledge/experience.
