? JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Director, Commercial Performance (Premium Brands) is an advisor and expert in all aspects of performance for Marriott's Premium brands (https://www.marriott.com/marriott-brands.mi#premium) . This role leads commercial analysis related to product, financial and operational performance and leads the assessment of them into initiatives. This role will lead a Brand Performance pod to deliver high-quality strategic perspectives on the competitive landscape and our brands’ positioning. Core partners for this role include the Brand teams, Revenue Management, Finance, Global Quality, CX. This role will collaborate with these key teams to track each brand’s Commercial and Operational performance, evaluate Product quality, and craft strategies/initiatives to drive improvement.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, or related major, MBA a plus.

  • 4+ years of experience in Banking/Finance, Strategy Consulting, Market Research, or similar analytical role

  • 2+ years of managerial experience

  • Problem solving and strategy expertise (e.g., structuring and analyzing ambiguous problems, driving implications from complex data)

  • Demonstrated command of data and insights from a variety of internal and external sources to shape narratives about customer and brand opportunities

  • Proven ability to lead and work with cross-functional teams, using data and insights to influence decision-making

  • Sensitivity to global communication needs

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Lead competitive intelligence and brand landscaping efforts

  • Drive competitive intelligence/brand research roadmap

  • Develop insights on brand positioning, particularly for Marriott International’s Premium brands

  • Deliver high-quality strategic perspectives on competitor brands

Drive commercial and operational insights & strategy development

  • Work alongside Revenue Management to build and manage a comprehensive dashboard for each brand

  • Collaborate with Global Design to develop and manage renovation dashboards

  • Work alongside Global Operations to gauge performance in food and beverage, guest experience and other areas

  • Develop and leverage insights to craft pragmatic strategies to drive improvements

Lead and Develop Brand Performance team

  • Establish high-standards for data-driven thinking and decision making for Brand Performance team

  • Support culture of test and learn through strategy development, operating model recommendations, etc.

  • Maintain high performance levels by hiring the best candidate(s), providing direct report(s) with development opportunities, addressing performance issues, and aligning performance and rewards to departmental goals

  • Nurture individual team and department-wide efforts to improve Global Brand & Marketing team culture and work environment as reflected in annual associate survey results and informal feedback forums

Deliver executive communication

  • Engage frequently with executive stakeholders across Brand, Revenue Management, Global Operations, Design, etc.

  • Present analyses, research, and insights in key forums across the business

  • Ability to influence decision-making by bringing data, analyses and insights to bear on key business challenges and opportunities
