Procedures will include a wide range of research, clinical, and therapeutic protocols. The Sr. Nuclear Medicine Technologist will be responsible for protocol management under the guidance of the Nuclear Medicine Supervisor and Medical Director. The incumbent functions as the technical “subject matter expert” and has the responsibility and accountability for ensuring the technical competence of the staff. Acts as primary support for research related projects, protocols, scheduling, and development. Responsible for the provision of quality patient care, including the timely throughput of patients and the performance of their exams. Operates and performs quality control of stationary and portable scintillation equipment including, gamma cameras, Geiger-Mueller counters, well counters, dose calibration devices and ancillary equipment. Performs PET, Nuclear Medicine, and CT diagnostic studies on PET/CT scanner, including injection of CT Contrast Media, image acquisition and reformatting. Requirements include working On-Call and working rotating shifts. Knowledge of State regulatory radiation safety practices and the principles of ALARA.
