Slitter Operator We have a Direct Hire, Permanent, Full-Time Opening for a Slitter Operator Job Summary: To operate a slitter safely, efficiently, productively and produce a quality product in accordance with company and customer specifications. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities: Operate slitter efficiently and productively against set goals Loading and unloading of rolls on slitter. Interpret and understand written information, (orders, SOP s, Lam. and print roll tickets etc.) Palletization, (building pallets of finished goods per customer specifications) Bagging of finished rolls Quality checks slit material o Lay flat/measurement of slit web o Print quality/print defects o Roll/web tension and integrity Enter accurate information into computer and on production forms. Print out and attach accurate labels to finished rolls Keep machine and surrounding area safe and clean Spot and determine visual defects. Cut out defects and splice together good material Must comply with all general Company-wide standard operating procedures (SOP s) and any job or department specific SOP s. o SOP s may cover the areas of (but are not limited to) ? Employee Health and Safety ? SQF (Safe Quality Food packager) and GMP (good manufacturing procedures) focused on eliminating contaminates in all packaging manufactured. ? SGP (Sustainable Green Printer) environmental regulatory procedures and SOP s. Supervisory Responsibilities: (if any) None Qualifications: (education, experience, specific skills, machinery/tools, etc.) Ability to read a tape measure/ruler Ability to use a computer, (basic computer skills, data entry) Basic math skills Good organizational skills Communicate well with others Basic reading skills Basic writing skills, (must be legible) Use of minor tools, (i.e., Allen wrenches) Use of sharp cutting tools Process written information, (orders, SOP S, etc.) Physical Demands: (lifting X lbs., working at heights or underground, standing for long periods, etc.) Moving/Carrying ability, 50 lbs. repetitively/frequently; 70 lbs. intermittently for up to 5 ft. Lifting ability; up to 50 lbs. intermittently Standing for extended periods. (consistently 70-80%) Bending, twisting and reaching (intermittently -60-70%) Push/pull of up to 100 lbs. (occasionally - 20-30%) Extensive use of hands and fingers Extensive time on feet, walking/ standing Use of step ladders, (if needed) Working Conditions: (travel, working hours, any unusual environmental conditions, protective wear required, etc.) Working 12 hr. shifts. Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment Ability to work with and around solvents and solvent based inks Follow all safety regulations and rules at all times, including wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE): o Steel tip boots or shoes o Hearing protection o Safety glasses o Cut resistant gloves o Hairnets and beard nets This position is a safety sensitive position.
