What you'll achieve As a Software Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for building and defining the APEX Observability Stack together with team, and leads for Visualization, Metrics, Logging and Distributed Tracing. You will: Contribute to the design and architecture of high-quality, complex Observability systems with focus on visualization, metrics, logging and distributed tracing Take the first step towards your dream career Every Dell Technologies team member brings something unique to the table. Here's what we are looking for with this role: Essential Requirements • 8+ years of experience within Software development • Strong experience with Observability (Metrics, Logging, Distributed tracing) and DevOps principles and practices • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills • Technical leader and good team player; partner throughout the organization • Mentor and constructively coach other engineers • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate to a variety of audiences, including executive management and engineering teams • Leads the review, analysis, and corrective action for issues contributing to software defects and business process problems • Development/programming experience in a modern language such as Python, Java, or Bash • Experience in metric-based and log-based monitoring systems, like Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana and Dynatrace • Experience in distributed tracing, like open telemetry • Experience with containers, virtualization • Understanding of infrastructure components, and microservice and software architectures • Strong bias for action and ownership • Passionate about improving system reliability and the customer experience • Insatiable desire to learn and grow, curiosity about all thing's technology, development, operations, and cloud Desirable Requirements • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related field • Experience with Kubernetes (Orchestration layer), Istio (Service Mesh), Nginx (Reverse Proxy), Akamai • Experience working in Cloud Platforms, such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud • Experience with Atlassian products (JIRA, Confluence) • Familiar with Agile software development processes and procedures (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) Here's our story; now tell us yours Dell Technologies helps organizations and individuals build a brighter digital tomorrow.
