Software Program Manager - Remote - Work From Home

Job DescriptionSeeking a US Military Veteran, National Guardsman, Reservist and/or Military Spouse to apply for a IT Project Manager position with a large mortgage servicing firm. This will be a 1-year contract with the potential to extend. You must live within 75 miles of Reston, VA. You will be responsible for overseeing the application of project management methodology during all phases of the project cycle, with responsibilities that include project design, scope management, cost control, quality and performance reporting. IT Project Managers are responsible for managing the technical direction of a project through the design, implementation and testing in accordance with project objectives. Responsibilities: Veteran Military • Manage multiple end-to-end SDLC and Non-SDLC projects thru the pipeline as part of highly visible Cloud and Retirement software programs • Act as liaison with partner organizations (PMOs, Line of business POCs, Governance, Architecture, etc.) to address program management activities and provide status to stakeholders • Support Change Management processes • Support weekly and biweekly program reporting processes, including status reports (e.g., Confluence, PowerPoint, etc.) • Support ad-hoc PMO & software assets data analyses, metrics, and reporting via Excel • Prepare for and lead recurring program status calls with stakeholders • Develop, track, and manage program/project plans, timelines, and scope • Lead teams of developers or engineers (Scrum/Kanban teams) in the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business needs • Define Implementation plans and support production deployments • Ensure appropriate systems development and project management processes are being utilized • Make presentations to leadership or project sponsor • Follow Fannie Mae requirements and processes for production deployments (Path to Production) Requirements: Veteran Military • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required • PMP or PMI certification preferred • 5-7 years project management experience in application development environment (with 3+ years managing concurrent projects) • Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment • Hands-on project and data analysis support • People management and team building skills • Excellent communication skills, spoken as well as written • Demonstrated ability to be flexible/ adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities • Proven ability to learn business and IT processes quickly and to work well with business partners at different levels within and outside of PMO organization • Strong ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications/products and business functions Pay rate: $67.71/hr The company is an equal opportunity employer and will consider all applications without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, veteran status, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.
