Position Summary: The Staff Accountant I position will be actively involved in day-to-day general ledger, lease accounting, fixed assets, and analysis, as well as monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and forecasting. This position will work closely with the Corporate Accounting Manager, the Director of Accounting, and the accounting staff.
Essential Functions:
Compile, enter and post transactions and journal entries in a timely and accurate manner
Account Reconciliation:
Ensure timely and accurate completion of period close processes and reconciliations
Provide daily accounting transactions and review
Lease Accounting Software:
Work with Director of Real Estate and Fleet department to maintain vehicle and property leases housed in our lease accounting software. This will include additions, modification and terminations
Create month end journal entries in accordance with ASC 842 for all leases
Reconcile lease accounting software to the lease accounts in the general ledger
Update and maintain Fixed Assets ledger
Prepare and compile information for quarterly and year end audit
Back up for entering transactions into the Cash Manager Module
Assist with special accounting projects
Perform other duties as assigned
Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in finance or accounting or other related field
Strong analytical skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Able to deliver effective results, meet deadlines and targets
High attention to detail
Good time management and organization skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
