Strategic Space Systems Division has an opening for a Staff Engineer Manufacturing to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.
Position is for an engineering and planning supporting M2 I&TL Mechanical hardware production areas. The candidate will support efforts for the engineering and work instruction generation/process planning function.
Typical Responsibilities Include:
Translating contractual requirements into detailed Work Instructions and MBOMs using Solumina MES and SAP MRP software tools, documenting tooling and shop aids to assist in the manufacturing, assembly and testing of hardware
Reviews requirements to ensure completeness of work instruction
Implementation of processes, procedures for machined parts, composites and assemblies including order of operations for Solumina work instructions and floor discrepancies
Develops and executes process flows and integration plans
Understanding and interpretation of Process (PR) specifications and (Fabrication Inspection Procedure) FIPPS
Applies experiential skills to the development of work instructions and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, and/or controls
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance or SCI Access.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree plus 14 years of engineering/technical experience OR Master's Degree plus 12 years of engineering/technical experience OR High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (G.E.D) plus 18 years of engineering/technical experience.
Familiarity with Manufacturing, Integration, Test or Mechanical Assembly
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance or SCI Access
Preferred Qualifications:
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance or SCI Access
Manufacturing experience
Integration and Test experience
Experience with mechanical assembly and integration techniques
Ability to operate in a large team environment
Excellent communication skills
Excellent technical writing skills
Salary Range: $146,000 USD - $219,000 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
