POSITION: Steelmaker 4DUTIES: The Steelmaker 4's primary function is to assist steel-makingpersonnel while demonstrating a high regard for safety. This position reportsto the Melting Supervisor, Caster Supervisor, MaintenanceSupervisor, Materials, and steel-making personnel concerning the job.* Adhere to all appropriate standard operating procedures* Observe all safety rules, lockout procedures* Obtain and maintain OSHA 10 and equipment certifications, as required* Coordinate and work with mill personnel in maintaining mill production,while operating all equipment needed to complete the job and utilizingnecessary safety equipment* Perform routine maintenance and assists maintenance personnel* Notify supervision and maintenance personnel of all abnormal job andequipment conditions.* Adhere to all company mobile equipment and crane regulations, includingcomplete inspection report and turn in to Melting/Casting Supervisor* Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly* Operator may be reassigned to other mills in accordance with the CollectiveBargaining Agreement* Work conditions are subject to both inside and outside environmentalconditions. Exposed to extreme heat and cold and elevated noise levels.Physical Hazards - Close proximity to moving parts, pinch points,solvents, high heat, high voltage electricity, hot surfaces, sparks,natural gas, oxygen, acetylene, high-pressure air, and hydrauliclines, shape edges, and tools.The above statement reflects the general details considered necessary todescribe the principal functions of the job identified and shall not beconstructed as a detailed description of all of the work requirements that maybe inherent in the job.REQUIREMENTS:* Must be 18 years of ageOTHER REQUIREMENTS:* Candidates will be required to demonstrate aptitude through testing* Must be 18 years of age.* Must be willing to work varied shifts (3 shift rotation) and any daysof the week* Knowledge of the tools and equipment used for industrial purposes* Possess an understanding of the basic manufacturing process and familiaritywith heavy industry, manufacturing, or mining; or a closelyrelated field* Ability to safely and appropriately operate, power and hand tools,machinery, and mobile equipment* Competent in manipulating numbers, quantities, shapes, and spaces;able to take simple measurements and perform basic mathematical operations(e.g., addition, subtraction, division, decimals, fractions)* Ability to convey and understand information effectively and safely,including speaking over a public address system* Ability to work in both inside and outside environmental conditions, withexposure to elevated noise levels, extreme heat, and cold, physicalhazards- close proximity to moving parts, hot surfaces, pinch points, sparks,sharp edges, high-pressure air, oxygen, and gas lines (atmosphericconditions may require the use of a respirator)* Must be able to work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment,which will include but not be limited to repetition, climbing,kneeling, standing, crawling, consistent exertion of forces up to 50 poundsor morePREFERRED SKILLS* 12 months experience preferred.* HS Diploma or GED preferred* Valid driver's license preferred - required for certain positionswithin the scope of Steel Production Worker*All applicants must be legally able to work in the USA without sponsorship.WAGE: $22.01/hour Shift differentialSHIFTS: Rotating ShiftsJOB SITE: PuebloBENEFITS: Full company benefit package to include medical, dental, vision,defined pension plan, profit sharing, and 401K matching.
