Summary This position will independently manage the Veterans Transportation Service Program. This program provides transportation at Government expense to beneficiaries and their attendants traveling to and from VA facilities and other places for purpose of examination, treatment or care. Responsibilities Appointment Scheduling for Transportation. Admissions / Discharge / Transfer Scheduling. Data entry into automated tracking system. Utilizes the veterans health information and technology architecture (VISTA), Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) or Share point consult / request tracking system in processing VETRIDE Data Entry and Scheduling. Reviews documents and reports for completion accuracy. Collections, compiling, and tracking of data and statistical information. Plans and provides support services to supervisor and operation managers regarding optimum use of service resource and program services. Plans consult processing flow to ensure veterans receive consultation services in a timely manner. Ability to work effectively with others. Handles conflict and problem in dealing with customers constructively and appropriately. Interact with internal and external stakeholders regarding veterans transportation services. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Experience with application of an extensive body of transportation regulations, methods and practices to perform a wide variety of interrelated or nonstandard transportation support assignments and resolve a wide range of problems. Experience in the use of travel rules and regulations in M-1, Chapter 2S, Beneficiary Travel, Code of Federal Regulations, Chapter 17 and MP-1, Part 2 regarding legal entitlement to travel reimbursement. Skilled in the use of office automation abilities, to include the email system, MS Office, spreadsheets and other equipment. Prepare correspondence to veterans concerning eligibility and counsels' veterans who do not meet criteria for transportation reimbursement. Experience with beneficiary travel reimbursements, ie funds for mileage payments, ambulance, wheelchair cab and taxi for authorized and unauthorized claims and provide periodic fund control reports to the Business Office.
