Reporting to the Senior Director of Infosec engineering, you will be an influential contributor in the engineering organization responsible in leading, designing, managing, and deploying key technologies in network and Internet protection.  You will get to solve scalability challenges unlike any other company out there while working with and mentoring a very talented set of engineers.   

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Participating as one of the technical leads in the network/Internet cyber security engineering program directly influencing the technology roadmap and future capabilities on how to protect one of the largest retailers in the world.
  • Introducing industry trends and best practices into our security capabilities and programs
  • Evaluating the organization’s security needs and establish best practices and standards accordingly
  • Designing, implementing, maintaining, overseeing, and upgrading all security measures needed to protect organizations’ data, systems, and networks
  • Have a good working knowledge and applicable experience with the DevSecOps and automation
  • Troubleshooting complex network and security issues and incidents
  • Work across cross functional security engineering team and delivering solutions that help better protect our associates and data
  • Optimize operations at scale with automation

  • You understand the importance of defining an evolving technology roadmap
  • You are a strong believer in say what you do and do what you say on time and within budget
  • You have a solid background in fundamentals of networking and how applications communicate securely
  • You get excited about rolling out impactful technology with minimal downtime or frictionless user experience
  • You have a solid grasp of technical architecture and deep understanding of networking fundamentals and how the Internet ticks
  • You have a customer-centric mindset while balancing usability and security
  • You have the ability to work through difficult situations and influencing decisions and direction
  • You can explain the day in the life of a packet from point A to point B from layer 1-8
  • You have direct experience with multiple cloud providers and understand the design limitations 
  • You are well versed on technologies such as firewalls, proxies, IDS, IPS, routing, switching, ansible, python, load balancing, email protection, Unix, automation, packet analysis, CASB, encryption, DLP

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and 8 years' experience in information technology or related field within the last 12 years OR 10 years' experience in information technology or related field within the last 12 years.
