Job Description

Develops and implements Employee Safety strategy. Ensures system-wide compliance with OSHA standards and activities; provides guidance to the facilities on Employee Safety enabling and engaging workforce safety initiatives among all staff. Conducts safety assessments and responds to safety incidents.

Job Responsibility

  • Develops and implements organization Employee Safety Standards; oversees organization policy compliance with OSHA regulations; reviews and ensures quality of OSHA logs; oversees organization policy and ensures compliance with OSHA standards and regulations.
  • Participates in OSHA readiness activities such as mock surveys, investigation of complaints, reportable incidents and OSHA inspections; develops and maintains OSHA inspection guidebook and materials.
  • Develops program components for compliance to OSHA standards; assists in developing employee safety and injury prevention improvement recommendations.
  • Prepares and submits reports to management and external regulatory agencies, as required; performs trend analysis on work-related injury data and workers compensation run reports; identifies high risk areas and prioritizes for intervention.
  • Monitors effectiveness of interventions; tracks impact on health system's work-related injury experience.
  • Partners Workforce safety team and sites for quality reviews of OSHA logs; provides training as needed; trains staff on OSHA requirements and standards; creates employee safety training documentation.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources, EHS, and Safety departments on workforce safety initiatives; participates in Safety Committees; provides guidance on workplace hazards and issues to occupational health staff and committee members.
  • Responds to Safety incidents, emergencies, occupational injuries and hazards; conducts on-site investigations; submits written report on incident.
  • Makes recommendations for preventing future occurrences; participates in hazard surveillance and risk assessment initiatives as needed.

Job Qualification

  • Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
